Friday Fotos (June 14, 2013) -- Walter W. Cooke

Walter W. Cooke (date and age unknown)

Walter Wilson Cooke circa 1930

Walter Wilson Cooke is my maternal great grandfather.  He was born to George Henry Cooke and his wife, Susannah Catherine (Appell) Cooke, on October 15, 1869 at 11 Bennett Street in Boston, Massachusetts.  He married Florence Leonette Flagg on August 2, 1891 in N. Attleboro, Massachusetts.  He was a jeweler by trade.  He and "Nettie" had six children -- four girls and two boys, but only three girls survived beyond early childhood.  One of the surviving children was my maternal grandmother, Ruth Eaton (Cooke) Carpenter.

When Nettie died in 1904, Walter married a second time.  Walter and his second wife, Flora Sayle, had one child together, Constance Cooke, born in 1926.  Walter died in N. Attleboro, Massachusetts on May 31, 1944 at age 74.

  1. I must say, Mr. Cooke was a handsome gent. I bet he didn't have any trouble with the ladies.
