It has been almost a year since I last posted here, but part of the reason is the time otherwise devoted to writing a compiled genealogy of the Tew family descended from Richard and Mary (Clarke) Tew who came to America and Newport, Rhode Island in 1640. It is very slow going on top of other pursuits––including being recruited by the Rhode Island Genealogical Society (RIGS) to serve as the Exhibit Hall Chair for the New England Regional Genealogy Consortium (NERGC) biennial Conference.
For those of you who have never attended a genealogy conference, this is an easy one to attend if you live in or close to New England. The Conference is back live and in-person for the first time since 2019 when it was held in Manchester, NH. It will be held at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA, the same venue as in 2017.
If you are interested, here is a direct link to the website where you can see the full brochure of classes and events. https://nergc.org/registration/ And here is where you can see a partial list of the various vendors, exhibitors, and societies that will have booths in the Exhibit Hall. https://nergc.org/exhibit-hall/
Come join us! The Pre-Conference workshops begin on Wednesday, May 3rd and the many classes available start on Thursday and run through Saturday May 4th - 6th.
