George Douglas Jeffs was born on November 25, 1893 in Havelock, Ontario, Canada.  He is my wife's maternal grandfather and the great grandfather of our two sons.

Douglas Jeffs was a Captain in the Canadian Army Medical Corps (C.A.M.C.) and was part of the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force, having served with the 10th Field Ambulance Corp.  He served from February 9, 1917 to July 9, 1919.

Doug Jeffs was the second of two sons of Dr. William H. M. Jeffs (1864 - 1933) and his wife, Minnie Brown (1862 - 1950).  Doug's older brother, Howard, was also a physician.
