Ruth Eaton [Cooke] Carpenter (September 8, 1897 - March 10, 1979) |
Today is the 117th anniversary of the birth of my maternal grandmother, Ruth Eaton [Cooke] Carpenter!
I have written more extensively about my maternal grandmother as part of the "Immortality" series here at The Prism. The post about my "Gramma Ruth" -- with a small collection of photographs -- can be seen here.
Yesterday was the little-known -- and for some reason easily forgotten -- National Grandparents Day (officially the first Sunday after Labor Day). Since my Gramma Ruth was born on September 8th, her birthday is always close in time to Grandparents Day; therefore today I want to remember all my grandparents as a somewhat belated recognition of yesterday's National Grandparents Day, but with a special recognition and spotlight on my Gramma Ruth on her birthday via posting of one of my favorite photographs of her!

Great post about your grandparents! I can see why that photo of your Grandma Ruth is one of your favorites of her. It's beautiful!
