BTW, the photo is taken at Hopping Bear Point on Moose Island, the middle island in Lake Placid located in the High Peak region of the Adirondacks in Up-State New York. The mountain in the background is the scarred backside of Whiteface Mountain, site of the alpine ski events in the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The foreground is me and my older son.
In the background, just under your chin, John, I noticed what appears to be a lodge. Perhaps your son was saying something like, "It's not that far, Dad -- just over there. We could swim there." Or walk over on the beach, or row the boat over.... Your son was quite the cutie.
Yes -- I recall your awesome command of Shakespeare. Your line from Macbeth lives on and on, "Lead on, McGruff!" :-) [Actually misquoted by most people as it is "lay on, Macduff . . . "]

DeleteI have no memory of what I was saying but I think it was Richard III.
Maybe the little guy all grown up is still a cutie, Jonathan, but without a photo, who knows!
